Mack Arch is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off Gold Beach, Oregon, where the bottom falls through the 45 to 75 foot range and holds structure that concentrates fish. Pacific Halibut anchors the calendar with a peak from March through August, while Lingcod come on strongest in January and February and Chinook Salmon fill the window from July through September. The rock and depth suit drift fishing for halibut with herring, salmon bellies, squid, or leadhead jigs, and jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs works the same structure for lingcod. Coho Salmon run June through October and respond to trolling with cut-plug herring, spoons, flashers, or hoochies over the exposed water. Shelf and canary rockfish, yellowtail rockfish, Pacific cod, and sablefish round out the mix along this rocky edge.
