Seal Point sits off Gold Beach, Oregon, where a rocky drop-off falls through outer, exposed water from 20 to 120 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from July through September and Coho Salmon from June into October, both taken by trolling cut-plug herring, trolling spoons, and flashers over the deeper edges. Pacific Halibut move through from March to August and respond to drift fishing with herring, salmon bellies, and squid across the sloping bottom. The rock ledges concentrate Lingcod in January and February, with Black Rockfish and Blue Rockfish stacking up through the summer months, all worked with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits close to the structure. Cabezon hold on the same rock through spring and late summer, taking leadhead jigs and cut squid worked tight to the bottom.
