This rocky pinnacle sits in the outer, exposed waters off Winchester Bay, Oregon, rising from a bottom that holds between 75 and 100 feet of water. The structure concentrates lingcod, which peak from January through March, alongside a mixed rockfish population that includes yelloweye, canary, and copper rockfish holding tight to the rock. Anglers work the pinnacle for lingcod with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, or drop live greenling and herring on the structure when fish are holding deep. Pacific halibut move through from March into August and take drifted herring, salmon bellies, and squid over the harder bottom. Chinook salmon run from June through September and coho from June into October, both taken by trolling cut-plug herring, whole herring, and flashers with hoochies through the exposed water above the pinnacle.
