Hump 1.6 km SW of Flattery Rocks is a rocky pinnacle rising from the outer exposed coast off La Push, Washington, holding depths of 45 to 115 feet over hard structure. Pacific Halibut and Chinook Salmon peak from April through August, while Lingcod comes on earliest from February through April and Coho Salmon builds from May into September. The pinnacle's rock bottom concentrates Lingcod along with Canary Rockfish, Copper Rockfish, and Pacific Cod, making jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs an effective approach across the structure. Halibut hold on the surrounding gravel and rock, where drift fishing with whole herring, salmon bellies, octopus, or squid works through the 45-to-115-foot range. For salmon over and around the hump, trolling whole herring, flashers, trolling spoons, and hoochies covers water for Chinook and Coho as they move along the exposed outer shelf.
