Hump 1.4 km S of Umatilla Reef is a rocky pinnacle rising in the outer, exposed waters off Neah Bay, Washington, where depths climb from around 60 feet up to just 5 feet over the structure. The pinnacle draws Chinook Salmon at their peak from April through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, both taken by trolling whole herring, spoons, flashers, or hoochies across the surrounding drop-offs. Lingcod hold tight to the rock and respond to metal jigs and swimbaits worked over the high points, with a peak from March through May. Pacific Halibut move through from April through July, reached by drift jigging leadhead and metal jigs along the deeper edges, while Black Rockfish stack over the reef from April through September and take metal jigs and leadhead jigs. Pacific Cod feed here in the colder months from January through March, worked with metal jigs and shrimp flies near the bottom.
