The Hump 0.2 km N of Umatilla Reef is a rocky pinnacle rising in outer-exposed water off Neah Bay, Washington, where depths run from 20 to 60 feet over hard structure. Chinook Salmon peak from April through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, both worked by trolling flashers, hoochies, and trolling spoons across the top of the pinnacle. Lingcod hold tight to the rock and peak March through May, taken by jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and lead-head jigs with plastic. The same structure holds Black Rockfish from April through September, along with Copper and Canary Rockfish, all responsive to metal jigs and leadhead jigs bounced along the pinnacle's edges. Pacific Halibut move through from April to July over the surrounding rock, and Pacific Cod fill the winter window from January through March, with drift jigging and leadhead jigs producing on both.
