The Hump 2.2 km W of Fuca Pillar is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle rising off Neah Bay, Washington, where depths run from the surface down to about 80 feet. Chinook Salmon peak here from April through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, both taken by trolling whole herring, spoons, flashers, and hoochies over the structure. Pacific Halibut hold along the rock from April to July and respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbaits, while Lingcod concentrate on the pinnacle from March through May and take metal jigs and swimbaits worked close to the bottom. Pacific Cod fill the colder months from January to March and hit metal jigs and shrimp flies, with Canary and Copper Rockfish, Sablefish, and Sixgill Shark rounding out the resident mix. The exposed position and hard rock relief make this a compact, structure-focused spot where jigging and trolling both work depending on the target.
