Ediz Hook / The Hump is an outer-exposed drop-off off Port Angeles, Washington, where mixed bottom falls away through depths of 40 to 180 feet. The structure holds lingcod, which peak from January through April, alongside Pacific halibut from March through August and rockfish that stay active year-round. Chinook and coho salmon move through in the summer months, with Chinook peaking June through August and coho holding into September. Anglers work the drop-off with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits for lingcod and rockfish, while halibut come on drift-fished herring, squid, and octopus along the deeper mixed bottom. Salmon here respond to trolled herring, spoons, and flashers over the same exposed structure during the summer runs.
