Green Point is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off Port Angeles, Washington, where the bottom falls from 40 to 180 feet along a hard structure that concentrates fish. Pacific halibut hold here through the spring and summer, peaking March to August, while Chinook salmon run strongest June to August and coho follow June to September. Anglers work the deeper edges of the drop-off for halibut with drift fishing using herring, salmon bellies, octopus, or squid, and jig leadhead or metal jigs over the rock when the drift slows. For Chinook and coho, trolling whole herring, trolling spoons, flashers, and hootchies covers water across the structure, with mooching cut-plug herring an option along the break. The exposed setting and rocky relief make this a place to read the tide and fish the depth band that suits the target.
