Alki Beach Point sits at the southern entrance to Elliott Bay in Seattle, Washington, where a rock outcrop breaks the tidal flow through DFO subarea 10. The point draws Coho Salmon from June through October and Chinook Salmon from July through September, with anglers working trolling setups using flashers, hoochies, trolling spoons, and cut-plug herring, or switching to mooching with whole herring as the fish move through. Rockfish hold along the rocky structure year-round and respond to jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits, while Lingcod concentrate around the same outcrop with a winter-into-spring peak from January through April. Pacific Halibut show from March through August and are targeted with drift jigging using metal jigs and leadhead jigs tipped with plastic or herring. The current and structure at the point make tide-driven presentations effective, particularly when working jigs and moored baits close to the rock.
