Bainbridge Reef Hump is a rocky pinnacle in Seattle's Puget Sound waters within DFO subarea 10, rising through the mid-exposure water column across a depth range of 80 to 200 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut, which peak from March through August, alongside Lingcod that run strongest in January and February through April, plus resident Canary, Copper, and China Rockfish and Pacific Cod along the rock. Chinook Salmon move through from July to September and Coho from June to October, working the water above the reef. Halibut respond to drift jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs with plastic, or herring, while bait fishing on bottom with whole herring, octopus, or squid takes fish holding tight to the structure. For Lingcod, jigging metal jigs and leadhead jigs with swimbaits over the pinnacle covers the rock effectively, and salmon are worked with trolling gear such as flashers with hoochies, cut-plug herring, and trolling spoons through the upper water.
