Middle Point is a mixed-bottom drop-off in Seattle's Puget Sound waters within DFO subarea 10, where the seafloor falls away through a mid-exposure range of roughly 260 to 660 feet. The spot holds a strong salmon run, with Chinook peaking July through September and Coho spanning June into October, and it also supports Pacific Halibut from March through August and Lingcod that turn on in January and again from February into April. Anglers target Chinook by trolling cut-plug herring, whole herring, flashers with hoochies, and trolling spoons along the break, switching to mooching or metal and leadhead jigs when fish sit deeper on the slope. Halibut come on drift jigging with metal jigs or leadhead jigs tipped with plastic over the mixed bottom, while Lingcod respond to metal jigs, bucktail jigs, and leadhead jigs with swimbaits worked close to structure. Black Rockfish hold across the drop-off through most of the year, taken on jigs, swimbaits, and soft plastics.
