Brace Point is a rocky drop-off along Seattle's shoreline in DFO subarea 10, where the bottom falls from roughly 260 to 660 feet across a mid-exposure edge. The steep rock structure holds Pacific Halibut through their March-to-August peak, Lingcod from January into spring, and a year-round mix of aggregate rockfish including canary and copper. Anglers work the deep contours with drift jigging using metal jigs, leadhead jigs with plastic, or herring for halibut, while jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, or bucktail jigs targets lingcod tight to the rock. Rockfish respond to jigging with swimbaits and shrimp flies or bait fishing with herring and squid along the same broken bottom. Chinook Salmon move through from July to September and Coho from June to October, taken by trolling cut-plug herring, flashers with hoochies, or spoons over the drop.
