Gibson Point is a rocky drop-off in DFO subarea 13 off Tacoma, Washington, where the bottom falls through a mid-exposure edge into depths of 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon run through the summer with a peak from June to September, followed by Coho Salmon peaking July to October, while Lingcod and Pacific Halibut hold along the structure with peaks from March into the early summer. Anglers troll cut-plug herring, flashers, and spoons along the break for salmon, and switch to metal jigs or leadhead jigs with swimbaits worked over the rock for Lingcod. Pacific Halibut come to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbaits, herring, or squid along the deeper edge of the slope. The steep rock also holds Canary Rockfish, Copper Rockfish, and Pacific Cod through much of the season.
