I’ve been using ReelCaster for about a month and I love it! Having all the conditions listed together is really handy and makes deciding when to go a no brainer instead of checking multiple apps and sites to get wind, current, sea conditions and tides. I highly recommend ReelCaster!

ReelCaster has completely changed how I plan my fishing trips. It brings together tides, currents, wind, swell, and water temperature in one place, then pinpoints the best times and locations to fish. It saves me time and gives me real confidence I’m on the water when conditions are ideal.

ReelCaster was very helpful in helping me figure out where and when to fish! I was lucky enough to catch a 7 lb Coho right off the beach. The info that the app provided was really helpful and it saved me the trouble of looking at multiple sources to figure out tides, weather, and regulations.

STRUCTURE
Drop Off
Mid

Gordon Point is a mixed-bottom drop-off in Tacoma's DFO subarea 13, dropping through depths of 260 to 660 feet along a mid-exposure edge of southern Puget Sound. The structure holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from June through September and Coho Salmon from July through October, with anglers working trolling spoons, flashers, hoochies, and cut-plug herring across the drop. Lingcod feed hardest from March through June and Pacific Halibut from March through August, both taken by jigging metal or leadhead jigs and by drift jigging leadhead jigs with plastic swimbaits over the deeper mixed bottom. Black Rockfish stay active year-round along the same structure and respond to metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and swimbaits, with Blue, Canary, and Copper Rockfish also present. The steep contour concentrates fish along the break, making the transition between the shallower shelf and the deep face the most productive water to fish.
