Yoman Point is an inner-protected drop-off in Tacoma, Washington, within DFO subarea 13, where a mixed bottom falls through depths of 260 to 660 feet. The steep structure holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from June through September and Coho Salmon from July through October, with anglers working trolling spoons, flashers, hoochies, and cut-plug herring along the contour. Pacific Halibut move through from March into August and respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and herring over the deeper mixed ground. Lingcod concentrate on the drop-off from March through June, taken on metal jigs and leadhead jigs with swimbaits, while Rockfish hold from April through September for vertical jigging along the same structure. The protected exposure keeps conditions workable across the depth range, making the point a consistent stop for both salmon trolling and bottomfishing.
