Itsami Ledge is an inner-protected sand flat in Tacoma, Washington, sitting in DFO subarea 13 at depths of 15 to 40 feet. The flat holds Pacific Halibut through its March to August peak, with Lingcod running strong from March into June and both Chinook and Coho Salmon filling the summer and fall, Chinook peaking June to September and Coho July to October. Black Rockfish stay catchable across the full year, and Copper Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Blue Rockfish round out the mix. Anglers work the sand with drift jigging for halibut, using leadhead jigs with plastic swimbaits, herring, or squid, while jigging metal or leadhead jigs takes lingcod and rockfish over the shallow bottom. Salmon come to trolling with cut-plug herring, flashers, spoons, and hoochies through the protected water, with mooching as a close alternative on the tide.
