About Entrance Bank

Entrance Bank is an outer-exposed flat off Campbell River in DFO subarea 13-3, where a mixed bottom runs from 120 to 240 feet. The bank holds Lingcod, which peak from May through June and again from August into September, alongside resident Pacific Cod, Sablefish, Pollock, and English Sole across the deeper mixed ground. Chinook Salmon move through the area from June to August, while Coho build through the longer window of May to September. Lingcod respond to jigging over the mixed bottom with metal jigs, leadhead jigs and swimbaits, or bucktail jigs, with whole herring, live greenling, or octopus worked as bait along the structure. For salmon, trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies covers the water column, and mooching cut-plug or whole herring works the same depths for Chinook holding on the flat.
