About Entrance Rock

Entrance Rock is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Campbell River in DFO subarea 13-3, rising through water that runs from 40 to 120 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon through their June to August peak and Coho Salmon across a long May to September window, with both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies over the pinnacle. Lingcod concentrate on the rock from May to June and again from August to September, responding to metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, or bucktail jigs worked close to the bottom. Black Rockfish stack up along the same structure from May through September and take metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits. Canary, Copper, and Quillback Rockfish along with Pacific Cod round out the mix over this hard, broken bottom.
