Middle Point Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising from an outer-exposed stretch off Campbell River, with depths running roughly 260 to 660 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut, peaking April through September, alongside Lingcod, which run strongest in May–June and again August–September. Rockfish species work the rock here as well, with Black Rockfish active from May through September, while Chinook Salmon move through June to August and Coho hold from May into September. Drift jigging with leadhead jigs, swimbaits, or metal jigs covers the deeper halibut ground, and jigging the pinnacle with metal jigs and leadhead jigs paired with swimbaits targets lingcod and rockfish over the rock. Salmon are worked higher in the column, with trolling spoons, anchovy, herring, and hootchies for Chinook and Coho over the exposed rise.
