About Warspite Rock

Warspite Rock is an outer-exposed pinnacle rising from rocky bottom off Campbell River, British Columbia, in DFO subarea 13-3, with fishable depths running from 40 to 180 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak May through June and again August through September, alongside resident Quillback, Copper, and Canary rockfish. Chinook Salmon move through from June to August and Coho from May to September, making the pinnacle a dual-purpose stop for bottom and salmon anglers. Lingcod respond to jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, or bucktail jigs worked over the rock, with whole herring or live greenling as bait alternatives. For salmon, trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies covers the water column above the pinnacle, while jigging metal jigs works the same exposed structure.
