Warspite Rock is an outer, exposed pinnacle off Campbell River, where rock structure rises through depths of 40 to 180 feet. Lingcod hold tight to the pinnacle and peak in May and June and again from August into September, while Pacific Halibut work the surrounding bottom from April through September. The rock also supports resident Quillback, Copper, and Canary Rockfish, with Chinook Salmon moving through June to August and Coho present from May into September. Anglers target lingcod by jigging metal jigs, leadhead jigs with swimbaits, or bucktail jigs over the high points, and drop back to whole herring or live greenling when fish sit deeper. Halibut come to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbaits across the depth breaks, while trolling herring, anchovy, spoons, or hootchies takes the passing salmon.
