Orange Point is an outer-exposed rock drop-off near Campbell River, British Columbia, where the bottom falls from around 15 down to 120 feet. Chinook Salmon hold here through their June-to-August peak and Coho Salmon run from May into September, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies along the edge, with mooching cut-plug herring an option on the same structure. The rocky slope holds Lingcod, best worked with metal or leadhead jigs from May into June and again through August and September, alongside Black Rockfish that respond to jigs and soft plastic swimbaits from May through September. Pacific Halibut move across the deeper flats near the base of the drop from April to September, where drift jigging leadheads and swimbaits covers the bottom. The exposed position and steep contour concentrate fish along the break, making the transition between shallow rock and deeper water the focus for most of these species.
