Race Point is an exposed rocky drop-off off Campbell River, British Columbia, where the bottom falls through depths of 260 to 660 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut, which peak from April through September, alongside Lingcod that run strongest in May and June and again from August into September. Chinook Salmon move through from June to August and Coho from May to September, while Pacific Cod, Sablefish, and Canary Rockfish work the deeper rock year-round. Anglers targeting halibut drift jig with leadhead jigs, swimbaits, and metal jigs over the drop-off, or fish bait such as whole herring, salmon bellies, and octopus. Salmon come to trolled anchovy, herring, and spoons through the water column, with jigging and mooching on cut-plug herring working the same exposed edge.
