Wren Islet is a rock-bottom drop-off off Campbell River, British Columbia, where the seabed falls from 330 to 1310 feet at a mid-exposure position. The structure holds Chinook Salmon through their June to August peak and Coho Salmon from May into September, with trolling spoons, hootchies, and cut-plug herring worked along the edge for both. Lingcod concentrate on the rock in May and June and again from August through September, taken on metal jigs and leadhead jigs with swimbaits, while Pacific Halibut hold across the deeper flats from April to September on drift-jigged leadheads and swimbaits. Black Rockfish stack over the same structure from May through September and respond to metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits. Copper Rockfish and Canary Rockfish share the rock bottom throughout the season.
