STRUCTURE
Drop Off
Outer Exposed

Musgrave Point sits off Cowichan, British Columbia, where an outer-exposed rock drop-off falls through depths of 260 to 660 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from June through September and Coho Salmon from June into October, with Pacific Halibut moving through earlier in the year from March to July. Chinook fishing works well with downrigger trolling using anchovy in a teaser head, hootchies, or trolling spoons behind flashers, while Coho respond to the same trolled spread. Along the deeper rock, drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbait tails or heavy metal jigs targets halibut, and jigging with swimbaits and metal jigs takes Lingcod through their June-to-August peak. Black and Copper Rockfish hold on the same rocky bottom and come to metal jigs, leadhead jigs, and soft plastic swimbaits.
