Clerke Peninsula is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Gold River, British Columbia, where the bottom rises through depths of 40 to 120 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon from May through September and Coho Salmon from June into October, both worked most effectively by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies through the water column. Lingcod stack on the rock through late winter and again in late summer, peaking February to April and August to September, and respond to jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs. Pacific Halibut move across the surrounding bottom from March to August, taken by drift jigging leadhead jigs with soft plastics or herring over the deeper edges of the pinnacle. The rocky relief also supports Darkblotched Rockfish, Rougheye Rockfish, and Sablefish in the lower reaches of the depth range.
