The Mission Group sits off Kyuquot on the outer exposed coast of British Columbia, a rocky drop-off that falls through depths from the surface to about 175 feet. Chinook Salmon move through from May to August and Coho Salmon follow from June to September, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and spoons along the structure. The rock and steep contour hold Lingcod, best worked with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs across their spring and summer peaks from March to May and June to August. Pacific Halibut come off the deeper reaches from March through August, where drift jigging leadhead jigs and swimbaits covers the bottom effectively. Quillback and Copper Rockfish along with Pacific Cod round out the resident species over the same rocky terrain.
