STRUCTURE
Drop Off
Outer Exposed

Owen Island sits off Port Renfrew on the outer exposed coast of British Columbia, marked by a rocky drop-off where depths range from 5 to 70 feet. Chinook Salmon peak here from May through September and Coho Salmon from June through September, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, and trolling spoons across the structure. The rocky bottom holds Lingcod from May through August, worked with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, along with Black Rockfish from March through September on jigs and soft plastic swimbaits. Pacific Halibut move through from March into August and respond to drift jigging with heavy leadhead jigs, salmon bellies, herring, or octopus along the deeper edges of the drop-off. Canary Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Sablefish round out the catch over this exposed rock habitat.
