Quartertide Rocks is an exposed rock pinnacle off Port Renfrew, British Columbia, rising through water that runs 40 to 120 feet deep on the outer coast. The structure holds Chinook Salmon peaking May through September and Coho Salmon peaking June through September, with anglers working the current with trolled anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies. The rocky ground concentrates Lingcod from May through August and Black Rockfish from March through September, both reached by jigging metal jigs, leadheads, and swimbaits over the pinnacle, along with Copper, Quillback, and China Rockfish. Pacific Halibut moves through the deeper edges from March through August, taken by drift jigging heavy leadhead jigs, salmon bellies, herring, or octopus near the bottom. The pinnacle's rise and outer exposure keep bait and current moving across the structure, positioning fish along the depth breaks.
