Finnerty Islands sits off Qualicum Beach in British Columbia, an outer-exposed rocky drop-off where depths fall from 65 to 275 feet. Chinook Salmon peak from July through September and Coho Salmon run from June into October, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies along the edge. The rock structure holds Lingcod, strongest from January through March and worked with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, while Pacific Halibut move through from March to August on drift-fished herring, salmon bellies, and octopus. Black Rockfish hold over the same broken ground from April through September and respond to jigging with metal jigs and soft plastic swimbaits. The steep contour lets anglers cover several depth bands over one piece of structure, from shallow rockfish holding to deeper halibut ground.
