Jeffrey Rock is an outer-exposed pinnacle off Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, where a rocky bottom rises through depths of 40 to 120 feet. The structure holds Pacific Halibut, which peak from March through August, and Lingcod, which peak from January through March, alongside resident Pacific Ocean Perch, Rougheye Rockfish, Sablefish, and Pacific Cod. Chinook Salmon move through from July into September and Coho from June through October, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies across the exposed water above the pinnacle. Halibut respond to drift fishing with whole herring, salmon bellies, or octopus over the deeper rock, while lingcod hold tight to the pinnacle and take metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs worked close to the structure. The exposed setting and rocky relief concentrate fish along the high points, rewarding anglers who keep baits and jigs near the bottom.
