Prowse Point is an outer-exposed rock drop-off off Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, where the bottom falls away through 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon hold here through their July to September peak, with Coho Salmon running June through October and Pacific Halibut moving over the structure from March into August. Trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, or hootchies works the salmon along the drop-off edge, while drift fishing whole herring, salmon bellies, or octopus down the deeper rock targets halibut. Lingcod peak from January through March and take metal jigs and swimbaits worked close to the bottom. Canary Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Leopard Shark round out the mix over this exposed structure.
