About Sea Egg Rocks

Sea Egg Rocks is a rocky pinnacle in DFO subarea 14-3 off Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, rising through outer, exposed water where depths run 40 to 120 feet. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from January through March, alongside Black Rockfish that concentrate from April through September, plus Rougheye Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Sablefish across the deeper edges. Chinook Salmon move through from July to September and Coho from June to October, giving the site a salmon window that overlaps the summer bottomfish. Anglers work the pinnacle for Lingcod by jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs over the rock, while Black Rockfish respond to jigging and casting soft plastic swimbaits along the same structure. For salmon, trolling anchovy, herring, spoons, and hootchies covers the water above the reef, with mooching cut-plug herring an option for Chinook.
