Datum Boulder is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Sayward, British Columbia, rising through depths of 45 to 130 feet where current sweeps structure that concentrates fish. Chinook Salmon hold here from May through August and Coho follow from June into October, both taken on trolled spoons, hootchies, and bait, with mooching whole or cut-plug herring a reliable alternative for Chinook working the pinnacle's edges. Lingcod peak from February through April and again in late summer, responding to metal jigs and swimbaits worked close to the rock, while Black Rockfish stack up from June through September over the same structure. Pacific Halibut move through from April to August and take drift-jigged leadheads and soft plastic swimbaits along the deeper flanks near 130 feet. The rocky bottom and exposed position reward jigging tight to the pinnacle, where Copper Rockfish and Cabezon also share the ground.
