Tuna Point is an outer-exposed rock drop-off off Sayward, British Columbia, where the bottom falls from roughly 260 to 660 feet. Chinook Salmon run through the summer with a peak from May to August, Coho Salmon follow from June to October, Pacific Halibut hold from April to August, and Lingcod come on strongest from February to April and again in late summer. The steep rock structure suits trolling anchovy, herring, or spoons for Chinook along the upper edges, while mooching cut-plug herring works the same water. Halibut hold deeper over the drop, where drift jigging with leadhead jigs, metal jigs, or soft plastic swimbaits covers the bottom, and Lingcod respond to metal jigs and swimbaits worked tight to the rock. The exposure also brings Albacore Tuna, Sablefish, and rockfish within range when they move through.
