Page Island sits off Ucluelet, British Columbia, an outer-exposed rock drop-off where the bottom falls from 330 to 1310 feet. Chinook Salmon peak from May through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hootchies, or spoons, with mooching cut-plug herring a supporting option along the edge. Lingcod hold on the rock structure and peak March through May, best worked with metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs, while Pacific Halibut run April through August over the deeper contours on drift-jigged leadheads and salmon belly. Black Rockfish stack up from May through September and respond to jigged metal jigs and soft plastic swimbaits over the same broken rock. The steep drop concentrates fish across a wide depth band, so adjusting presentation to the contour is the key to fishing this exposed structure.
