Parkins Rock is an outer-exposed pinnacle off Winter Harbour, British Columbia, rising from a rock bottom in waters running 260 to 660 feet deep. The structure holds Lingcod, which peak from February through April and again from June through August, alongside Canary Rockfish, Darkblotched Rockfish, Sablefish, and Pacific Halibut that show best from May through August. Chinook Salmon run strong from April through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, both worked by trolling anchovy, herring, hoochies, and spoons across the exposed pinnacle. Lingcod hold tight to the rock and respond to jigging with metal jigs, leadhead jigs and soft plastics, or swimbaits, while halibut over the deeper flanks come to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and metal jigs. Given the depth range and exposed position, anglers can also drop bait to the bottom, using whole herring or squid for lingcod and salmon heads on a spreader bar rig for halibut.
