Quatsino is an outer-exposed rock pinnacle off Winter Harbour on the northwest coast of British Columbia, rising through depths of 5 to 95 feet. The structure holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from April through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, while Lingcod concentrate February through April and again June through August, and Pacific Halibut run strong from May through August. Trolling anchovy, herring, and spoons works the salmon along the pinnacle's edges, while mooching cut-plug herring covers the mid-water column when fish sit deeper. Lingcod respond to metal jigs and leadhead jigs with soft plastics dropped onto the rock, and drift jigging with swimbaits over the deeper contours targets halibut. Canary Rockfish, Copper Rockfish, and Pacific Cod share the same rocky ground, adding bottom variety across the depth range.
