Scarf Reef is an exposed rocky pinnacle off Winter Harbour, British Columbia, rising through waters from the surface down to about 40 feet on the outer coast. The reef holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from April through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, with anglers working trolling patterns using anchovy, herring, hoochies, and spoons across the structure. Lingcod peak in the late winter through spring and again through midsummer, taking metal jigs, leadhead jigs with soft plastics, and swimbaits worked over the rock. Pacific Halibut move onto the surrounding bottom from May through August and respond to drift jigging with leadhead jigs and swimbaits. Canary Rockfish, Copper Rockfish, and Pacific Cod round out the mix over the same rocky terrain.
