South Danger Rock is an outer-exposed pinnacle off Winter Harbour, British Columbia, where rock structure rises through depths of 40 to 180 feet. The spot holds Chinook Salmon at their peak from April through August and Coho Salmon from May through September, both taken by trolling anchovy, herring, hoochies, and trolling spoons over the pinnacle. Lingcod concentrate on the rock from February through April and again from June through August, responding to metal jigs, leadhead jigs with soft plastics, and swimbaits worked close to the bottom. Pacific Halibut move through from May to August and take drift-jigged leadhead jigs and swimbaits across the deeper flats surrounding the structure, while Black Rockfish school over the same rock from May through September on metal jigs and soft plastic swimbaits. The exposed pinnacle also produces Canary Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Sablefish across its full depth range.
