The Ocean Cove Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising from an outer, exposed stretch of water off Bodega Bay, with depths running from 35 to 155 feet. The structure holds a steady population of rockfish—canary, copper, and bocaccio—alongside cabezon and lingcod, the latter peaking from July through February. Lingcod hold tight to the rock here, and jigging with metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs works the pinnacle's edges, while live bait such as live rockfish, live sardines, or squid draws fish off the deeper flanks. Chinook Salmon move through from April to August and Coho from June to November, both taken by trolling anchovies, spoons, hoochies, and flashers across the water above the structure. Pacific Halibut round out the spring-to-fall window, peaking April through September over the surrounding bottom.
