Distances are in a straight line, not by water.

Flint Ridge Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising in outer, exposed water off Crescent City, with depths running 30 to 50 feet over hard bottom. The structure holds lingcod, which peak from February through March and again from August through October, alongside aggregate rockfish that concentrate May through September and black rockfish that build from March and hold May through August. Anglers work the pinnacle for lingcod by jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs, dropping over the rock where the fish stage. Rockfish come off the bottom on shrimp flies, swimbaits, squid strips, and metal jigs, with jigging over the high points a reliable second approach. Chinook salmon move through the area from April into September and are taken by trolling anchovies, herring, spoons, and hoochies across the exposed water above the structure.
