About White Rock
White Rock is an outer-exposed rocky drop-off off Crescent City, California, where the bottom falls through roughly 35 to 55 feet of water. The structure draws Chinook Salmon through their April to September peak, alongside Coho Salmon, Canary Rockfish, Pacific Halibut, and Sablefish. Lingcod hold tight to the rock here, with the strongest windows running February to March and August to October, while Pacific Cod fill in through the November to January stretch. Anglers targeting Chinook work the water column by trolling anchovies, herring, spoons, or hoochies, with mooching whole anchovies or cut herring as a slower alternative. For Lingcod, jigging metal jigs, swimbaits, or leadhead jigs over the rocky edges produces, backed by live rockfish, sanddabs, or squid fished close to the structure.
