About Lands End
Lands End sits off San Francisco's outer coast, an exposed rocky drop-off falling through depths of 260 to 660 feet. The rock structure holds Lingcod, which peak from February through March and again from August through October, alongside Blue Rockfish and Black Rockfish that run strongest from spring into summer. Chinook Salmon move through from April to September, while California Halibut peak from April to August in the shallower reaches. Anglers work the drop-off with metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs for Lingcod and rockfish, and rig shrimp flies for Blue Rockfish over the rocky bottom. For Chinook, trolling whole anchovy, spoons, and flashers covers the exposed outer water, and drift fishing with live anchovies or shiner perch targets Halibut across the deeper edges.
