Point Bonita Hump is a rocky pinnacle rising off the outer coast of San Francisco, sitting in exposed water over depths of 100 to 250 feet. The structure holds a strong rockfish population, with Bocaccio, Canary, and Widow Rockfish sharing the ground alongside Lingcod, which peaks in February and March, again from August through October, and in December. Chinook Salmon move through the area from April into September, giving the spot a productive overlap of bottom and pelagic targets. Anglers working the pinnacle for Lingcod jig metal jigs, swimbaits, and leadhead jigs across the rock, or fish live sanddabs and anchovies close to the structure. For Chinook, trolling whole anchovy, spoons, hoochies, and flashers covers the water column above the same exposed high spot.
