About NRDA WM-LC-29 Reef
NRDA WM-LC-29 Reef is an artificial reef in federal Gulf waters off Destin, Florida, where placed structure draws reef fish and passing pelagics. Red Snapper peak from April through July, Gray Snapper from May through August, and Greater Amberjack in April and May, while Gag Grouper peak from October through December and Red Grouper hold on the structure as well. Bottom fishing with cigar minnows, squid, live pinfish, or cut bait is the dominant approach for Red Snapper, and vertical jigging with metal jigs or bucktail jigs works the same water column over the reef. Greater Amberjack respond to live hardtail (blue runner) or live pinfish fished near the bottom, and butterfly jigs and knife jigs serve as a supporting option. King Mackerel move through from April to October, and anglers target them by slow trolling live cigar minnows, live menhaden, or live blue runners above and around the structure.
