About Seven Mile Bridge Reef
Seven Mile Bridge Reef is an artificial reef off Marathon, Florida, set in the federal Atlantic waters of the Florida Keys. Dorado move through from March to July, Mutton Snapper peak from April to June, and Black Grouper take over in the cooler months from December to February. King Mackerel, Wahoo, and Greater Amberjack round out the species that work this structure. Bottom fishing with live pinfish, live pilchards, or cut bait targets the snapper and grouper holding tight to the reef, while jigging with bucktail jigs offers a second approach over the structure. Above it, trolling rigged ballyhoo and skirted trolling lures puts baits in front of Dorado during their spring and early summer run.
