About Clam Pass
Clam Pass is a protected tidal corridor in Naples, Florida, where a sand-bottomed channel 10 to 15 feet deep links the backcountry to the Gulf of Mexico. Sheepshead lead the winter run from January through March, with spotted seatrout peaking February through April. Common snook and tarpon then take over through spring and summer, alongside gray snapper from May through July. Spanish mackerel move through in March and April and again from September through November, while red drum peak in September and October. Live bait fishing with live pilchards, live pinfish, and live shrimp draws snook and red drum along the sand channel, and bottom fishing with fiddler crabs, sand fleas, and live shrimp targets sheepshead and gray snapper in the deeper stretches of the pass.
