About Hurricane Pass
Hurricane Pass is a shallow tidal corridor south of Naples, Florida, where protected inside waters run 0 to 10 feet deep over a mixed bottom. Common Snook peak from April through July, and Tarpon move through from March into August, both drawing anglers who drift live pilchards, live pinfish, or live mullet along the edges of the channel. Gray Snapper peak from May through July and hold tight to the bottom, where live shrimp and cut bait fished on the mixed structure produce steady action. Red Drum peak in September and October, while Spanish Mackerel push through in March and April and again from September through November, striking small spoons and jigs cast into moving water. In winter, Sheepshead take over from January through March, feeding on fiddler crabs and sand fleas fished on the bottom around hard structure within the pass.
