About Inner Doctors Bay
Inner Doctors Bay is a protected backwater basin in Naples, Florida, where a soft mud bottom sits in 5 to 10 feet of sheltered water within the Southwest Region of Florida's Gulf state waters. Winter and early spring bring Sheepshead from January through March and Spotted Seatrout from February through April. Common Snook and Tarpon dominate the warmer months, with Snook peaking April through July and Tarpon running March through August. Gray Snapper peak May through July, Red Drum move in during September and October, and Spanish Mackerel show in March–April and again September through November. The calm, muddy interior suits bottom fishing with live shrimp or fiddler crabs for Sheepshead and Gray Snapper, while live bait fishing with live pilchards, pinfish, or live mullet draws strikes from Snook, Red Drum, and Tarpon.
